Protein

Research, explained

Protein supports muscle gain alongside resistance training. Daily intake and amino-acid profile matter, not just the protein percentage on the pack.

What was studied

A meta-analysis of 49 studies in 1,863 healthy adults found additional muscle and strength gains from protein during resistance training.

What remains uncertain

These results do not rank individual powders. Overall diet and baseline intake influence the extra benefit.

Understanding the form

A training study in young, untrained men found comparable gains with vegan food plus soy and mixed food plus whey at matched high protein intakes. This does not test arbitrary powders; amino acids and daily intake still matter.
